Project Overview:

Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary:

In this position, you will lead a team and oversee the uniform application of the Bechtel project risk management policy, process, and procedures as well as risk software deployment support. You will provide oversight, training, and mentoring of project risk analysts and specialists toward project and corporate objectives. Your leadership will be essential in safeguarding project security and success.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing the risk program for an assigned project or program which includes but is not limited to: procedure development, risk log creation and update, and holding regular periodic risk meetings.
• Responsible to deploy, update, and manage “ARM” software on assigned project and/or program.
• Developing all required risk reporting, dashboards and analysis for the assigned project or program.
• Setuping, facilitating, and leading risk workshops with the project and client.
• Coordinating cost and schedule assessment of identified risks.
• Responsible for clearly communicating identified risks to the entire team and ensuring the risk management strategy. and/or mitigation strategy is known and followed by all relevant parties.
• Coordinating closely with the trend engineer to ensure potential cost and schedule impacts are adequately covered.
• Liaising with Bechtel Innovation Centre and BDAC to cross-pollinate innovation initiatives.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience​.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to actively lead risk workshops with both project and client personnel to identify risks, mitigations, and risk strategies.
• Demonstrated problem solving capability.
• Expertise in use of risk management software (e.g. ARM).
• Demonstrated ability to present clear and informative reports succinctly to both project and client management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Prefer bi-lingual Spanish and English capability.
